About the Author and Freelance Writer
Donna Sundblad

Memberships include: WIN, Calhoun(Georgia)-Gordon County Writers' Guild, Reader's Station, and The Lost Genre Guild

Donna Sundblad enjoys life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She's the eldest of seven and the great-great granddaughter of a Native American named Little Beetle. Little Beetle's people were a blend of Chippewa and Mingo and lived in West Virginia. She decided to leave her culture and took on the name Ida M. Biddle. When she married a white fur trader named Marshall Prickett, their joining was not accepted by either culture, but they forged a new life together.

Donna's love of family, belief in God, interest in her Native American heritage and her love of fantasy and science fiction all influence her writing.

The first, Room for One More tells of Donna's concerns about being able to love a second grandchild as much as the first. Matters are complicated when her granddaughter has to be taken to All Children's Hospital.

The second story, She's Only 14! is about a young girl of 14 who wants to go to Haiti as a missionary. But can her mother and father let her go?

[...] Windwalker is the vividly described and well-crafted world Donna Sundblad created. The reader will be pulled into the story with its scenery of sandy shores, dark thunderous waves and strikingly beautiful landscapes.

The tale opens with the arrival of several natives of the Jonnick clan to the Stygian shores. Their appearance was foreseen by the Stygian leader Cedrick in a dream. His vision warned him that the Jonnick would bring with them sickness and a lingering menace. Despite the ominous omen, the Jonnick are welcomed, showing a side of humanity that is rarely seen.

Sundblad provides a rich adaptation of ethical issues against a backdrop of fascinating races from the ill-fated Jonnicks to the brave and noble Stygians.

Windwalker is sure to be a hit. Its elements of romance and jeopardy will charm enthusiasts of fantasy, romance and adventure. It’s an enjoyable, enticing read that will want you to pick up the next Sundblad novel.

From the Mailbag:

I finished Windwalker. What a great story […] exciting all the way through. I was so impressed with how the [character] transformations took place with such ease. (Ojal - Queen Riona- Jalil ) It all felt perfectly natural and was easy to follow [as the story] flipped from the past , present and into the future, back to the past, and present...Wow!

Now that I am finished - I miss the characters. I had a connection with each one of them. I usually connect with a couple of people in a story, but seldom the whole works like I did in this story. You just clearly did a great job of creating each and every character. Thank you for writing it.
